Be happy :)

Woops, it's been a long time i didn't update my blog. Suddenly got mood again while i am preparing for the debate tomorrow. yuhoo~ kinda excited!!!

Okay, today I am just gonna share something, something that I learnt... and this came up to my mind when i was bathing.

I am sure every psychology students learn about classical conditioning by Ivan Pavlov. Ok before that, let m explain briefly what is classical conditioning.

Classical conditioning- Associate a neutral stimulus to a unconditioned stimulus to evoke a response automatically/naturally. Example: A bell (neutral) is paired with food ( unconditioned ) for the dog. The bell rings whenever the food is present. When the dog saw the food, it will salivate naturally, it's instinct. This process is repeated for a several times, and then the food is not presented anymore. The dog still salivate when it hears the bell rings. Now the bell had become the Conditioned stimulus.( the experiment conducted by Pavlov.)  Ok it's something like that, not going to be so specific. This is not a report! hahaha.

I still remember that i asked the lecturer about one situation. A person walk in to the dark cinema during a bright sunny day, (natural response: pupils dilate when one walk into a dark room from a bright room). Neutral stimulus: Bell again. Question: Will the person's pupils dilate whenever the bell rings after a few times of conditioning? Well, the lecturer say its possible. But i think it might not be possible. As sometimes, our action cannot be controlled by ourselves. For example: reflex action. Well, a pupil dilate is to let more lights enter the eyes, and its an involuntary reflex action! ok by the way i think i am going off the topic. zzz.

Ok back to the topic. Let's make this short, because my class is on 11! and its 1055 now! crap. ok. If you wanna be happy, you can always find something to be your neutral stimulus to pair up with your happiness ( unconditioned stimulus)., it doesnt have to be related, as it is called as the neutral stimulus! okay, for example, a fragrance smell, a picture, food, music, it can be anything! ( preferably something easy to find ). Then repeat it/remind it to youself for a few times, or maybe more. And that's all! For example, I eat cheese everytime i am happy. So when i feel unhappy, i eat cheese, it will make me feel better. Anyway, nothing is perfect. There's a very big limitation, never use it too often, because it might work the other way round, sadness might take place from the happiness to become the conditioned response!

ok gtg to class! might design this later. I know it looks complicated!
